Job Description

Airbus is looking for a Flight Line Mechanic to join our Mobile Manufacturing Team. This position is responsible for performing:

  • Functional Test Procedure (FTP), Pre & Post Flight inspection to prepare built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness.
  • Operating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data.
  • Proficient operation and understanding of a wide variety of test equipment and tooling.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings and engineering data to support tasks.
  • Completing assigned tasks within the allocated man-hour budget and meeting guidelines of safety regulations, quality, and cost.

Your Working Environment

On ‘Airbus Way’, you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry and is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your Challenges

  • Perform aircraft system Final Test Procedure Test (FTP) / Pre /Post flight checklist / Daily Inspection (DI) to prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness.
  • Ability to learn new tasks and techniques in troubleshooting aircraft systems and supporting Flight line operations at Airbus FAL Mobile Flight line Organization.
  • Troubleshooting malfunctions, rigging, repairing, replacing aircraft structures, components, and aircraft systems of moderate difficulty, maintaining and reworking aircraft components including but not limited to landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, ventilation, heating and cooling systems and mechanical / cabin interior components.
  • Servicing, repairing, and preparing documentation in accordance with company procedures and specifications.
  • Performing Post dock maintenance daily checklist / Safety and security / Incoming inspection.
  • Participating actively in the development and improvement of family system troubleshooting skills.   • Prior experience as Refuel/Defuel, Aircraft Jack and Tow. Experience performing other miscellaneous aircraft services to include but not limited to: Hydraulic and Engine Oil, service aircraft tire/struts and must be familiar with handling Hazard material policy.

Your Boarding Pass

  • 3 years minimum aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or repair environment required.
  • Valid A&P License.
