Description
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
STARLINK CUSTOMER SUCCESS SPECIALIST
Starlink is delivering high-speed, low-latency internet around the world. After a deal is signed, Customer Success gets the service on, activated, billed, and growing. Customer Success Managers own the customer relationship and the revenue growth plan. Customer Success Specialists own activations and billing, from a signed contract order to a working account.
This is an entry-level individual contributor role. You will not own a book of customers. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate when volume is high, communicates clearly, and treats getting an order live and billed correctly as their personal responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review assigned orders prior to system entry to confirm accuracy of products, pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and billing details
- Set up customer accounts to enable hardware shipment, Starlink service activation, and accurate invoicing
- Track shipments and activation dates; proactively flag delays or potential payment slips
- Maintain current systems and trackers so status, risks, and pending items are clearly visible and actionable for the team
- Own past-due balances and unapplied cash on assigned work until fully reconciled
- Escalate issues with a clear problem statement, revenue at risk, actions already taken, and a specific ask
- Flag unused kits, excess demand, or a stalled customer to the Customer Success Manager
- Identify and improve inefficient process steps so subsequent orders are easier to execute
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree; OR 2+ years of professional experience in operations, customer support, or process coordination
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Handled a high volume of orders or tickets without creating avoidable errors
- Communicates clearly and raises problems early, with a dollar amount and a next step
- Improved a process or tracker other people actually used
- Experience with Excel, Salesforce, Smartsheet, or similar tools
- Built lightweight ops automations or reporting in the tools the team already uses (spreadsheets, Salesforce, Smartsheet, etc.) so other people stopped doing the work manually
- Used an AI coding tool (Claude Cowork, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) to build something real, like a script, tracker, or workflow, not just chat answers
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to work across time zones when a customer shipment, activation, or billing date requires
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Learn more about the ITAR here.
