Standard Job Description

You will be the Flight Safety Survival Equipment Tech for the team which is responsible for ensuring aircrew flight equipment readiness.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Flight Safety Survival Equipment Tech you will be responsible for maintaining and certifying critical aircrew survival equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing periodic and scheduled tests, inspections, and maintenance on aircrew flight equipment including parachutes, survival kits, helmets, oxygen masks, and pressure suits.
  • Ensuring proper size and fitment of aircrew ensemble and certify equipment as safe for flight.
  • Working directly with aircrew to troubleshoot and resolve problems with flight equipment.
  • Properly recording all inspection and maintenance actions using technical data, blueprints, and vendor instructions.
  • Utilizing basic hand tools and occasionally work irregular shifts to support flying operations.

Further Information About This Opportunity

This position is in Palmdale, CA.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications

  • U-2 Pilot Equipment
  • Experience in Aircrew Flight Equipment
  • Experience in Flightline Operations
  • Use of Air Force Technical Orders or Equivalent such as Manuals.

Desired Skills

  • FAA Senior/Master Parachute Rigger's Certificate
  • Explosives Handling
  • Egress System experience/qualifications (e.g. ejection seats)
  • Liquid and/or Gaseous Oxygen Handling

Pay Information

  • $31.43 - $53.80
