Unique Skills

Advanced knowledge of paint process and products including lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics. Advanced knowledge of aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing. Experience in the aircraft industry is preferred. Must have strong leadership and mentoring skills.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years of related technical experience. FAA A&P license or ability to obtain a Repairman Certificate within 30 days of the start date.

Position Purpose: The Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the work of a team with a targeted span of control of 10-15 individuals. The Supervisor will ensure that day-to-day Compls shop tasks are completed effectively and efficiently. Responsibilities include:

  • Handling scheduling, training, and immediate problem solving.
  • Planning and scheduling workloads to ensure manpower and materials support workflow targets.
  • Complying with all duties and responsibilities set forth in the repair station inspection manual and standard operating procedures manual.
  • Maintaining team engagement by establishing a collaborative environment and fostering a culture of development where employees are supported in seeking growth opportunities, guiding the team to high-quality performance.

Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure accurate and meaningful communication flow between leadership and the team to ensure alignment.
  • Conduct regular contribution and development discussions and support development investment for all team members.
  • Establish and cascade departmental goals to align with organizational goals.
  • Deliver timely Progressive Counseling as necessary to maintain safety, compliance, and appropriate behavior among the team.
  • Ensure all department work is completed efficiently and timely while prioritizing safety and quality at the highest level.
  • Assign production responsibilities, work plans, and schedules to teams to ensure all jobs comply with FAA regulations.
  • Ensure personnel are qualified and trained to perform work assignments.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring stringent housekeeping, 5S standards, and safety procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all required paperwork and documentation are accomplished.
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, materials, quality, and other departments to meet schedules and budgets.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production process problems while minimizing costs and preventing delivery delays.
  • Promote, encourage, and lead a culture of continuous improvement and implement Lean Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Responsible for timekeeping for direct reports.

Additional Functions:

  • Model and reinforce safety and quality as a priority.
  • Make pay planning recommendations.
  • Hire and onboard new team members.
  • Ensure that aircraft interiors are protected.
  • Lead efforts to improve existing processes and procedures using Lean Manufacturing tools.
  • May involve flight tests on aircraft in support of certification and final phase testing.
  • Set standards for professionalism, communication, team building, and recognition of team members.
  • Establish process controls to ensure a FOD-free environment.
  • Promote a healthy workforce through the utilization of Corporate Ergonomist and EHS resources.
  • Support corporate sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure departmental emergency action plans support the business units' Business Continuity Plan for timely execution.
  • This position performs safety-sensitive activities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and shifts when required to meet business needs.

This job requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
