Job Overview and Responsibilities

The Manager-Technical Contract Performance is responsible for driving improved supplier performance by enforcing liquidated damage remedies for late delivery of aircraft parts and managing contract intelligence initiatives. The Manager will supervise up to four international direct reports, tasked with identifying, initiating, and settling lead time and turnaround time claims, along with tracking, capturing, and processing payment of such claims from United's aircraft goods and services suppliers. This position acts as the primary liaison to the Strategic Sourcing department in the development of contract language in support of obtaining such remedies and serves as a subject matter expert in the area of technical contract product support provisions, contract incentives, and the integration of contract intelligence solutions into contract management processes.

  • Perform and supervise analysis of annual volume of over 120,000 purchase orders and 150,000 repair orders
  • Identify available remedies from overdue orders
  • Initiate and settle over 600 claims per year
  • Manage contract intelligence initiatives supporting contract management processes, including coordination of requirements, implementation activities, and integration of solutions designed to improve contract analysis and accessibility across Tech Ops Supply Chain
  • Maintain proficiency and currency with Warranty Administration team by supporting a portfolio of claims with vendors
  • Collaborate and liaise with the Strategic Sourcing team in the drafting of liquidated damages language in new agreements
  • Support recurrent training of product support provisions contained in all technical contracts

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in supply chain, logistics, finance, or similar industry
  • Proven people leadership
  • Understanding of material logistics, supply chain management and contract administration
  • Strong negotiation, communication, analytical and organization skills
  • Advanced MS Excel
  • Up to 20% travel
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Three (3) years of experience initiating claims using data extracts, filtering transactions with available knowledge of existing contracts, negotiating settlements with suppliers and processing payments
  • Experience with contract intelligence tools, or implementation of technology solutions supporting contract management processes
  • Boeing PSAA and Airbus SSC product support provisions
  • Able to draft concise product support contract terms
  • Advanced knowledge of SCEPTRE
  • Able to write complex SQL queries
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and effectively leverages them for research, analysis, content creation, and problem-solving. Applies critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs while adhering to company policies related to responsible AI use, data privacy, and security.
