Working in our Augusta, GA Business Aviation MRO, this Lead Mechanic will serve on a team dedicated to Honeywell APU maintenance. This Team Lead will be responsible for covering the duties of the Crew Chief in their absence, as well as mentoring, scheduling, and developing a team of technicians and mechanics. 

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and supervise a crew to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards.
• Monitor hours charged to jobs to assure cost control and approve technicians’ time on tasks.
• Appraise crew members and recommend salary and status changes, recognizing achievements and administering discipline when necessary.
• Pre-plan work scope and action plans for incoming jobs, including ordering parts as needed.
• Deploy resources and assign tasks to crew members efficiently.
• Uses hand tools, precision measuring instruments, gauges, and engine calibration test equipment. 
• Implement all paperwork related to job orders and conduct a final review of work order documentation before submitting for quality assurance.
• Monitor progressive sign-offs to ensure all tasks are completed satisfactorily.
• Serve as a technical expert on Auxiliary Power Units, performing hands-on maintenance as necessary.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience performing heavy maintenance on Auxiliary Power Units 
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Licensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic 
• Experience overhauling the Honeywell 36-150 APU 
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Characteristics:

• 10+ years of experience as an A&P Mechanic servicing Honeywell APUs
• Experience creating job cards and work order books
• Proven ability to interact with and resolve customer concerns
• Experience in heavy and light maintenance, service bulletins, and troubleshooting
• Strong team-building, coaching, and problem-solving skills
