Job Description:

Airbus is looking for a Flight Line Mechanic to join our Mobile Manufacturing Team. This position will be responsible for performing Functional Test Procedure (FTP), Pre & Post Flight inspection, preparing built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness. This includes:

  • Operating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data.

Your Working Environment:

You will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, which opened in 2015. The facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019, strengthening the U.S. aerospace industry and enhancing Airbus’ global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your Challenges:

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing aircraft system Final Test Procedure (FTP) / Pre/Post flight checklists / Daily Inspection (DI) and prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness.
  • Learning new tasks and techniques in troubleshooting aircraft systems and supporting Flight line operation at Airbus FAL Mobile Flight line Organization.
  • Troubleshooting malfunctions, rigging, repairing, replacing aircraft structures, components, and systems of moderate difficulty; maintaining and reworking aircraft components including landing gear, flight surfaces, controls, anti-icing systems, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, ventilation, heating and cooling systems, and mechanical/cabin interior components.
  • Servicing, repairing, and preparing documentation according to company procedure and specifications.
  • Performing safety and security checks, incoming inspections, and day-to-day planned/unplanned aircraft maintenance.
  • Participating actively in the development and improvement of troubleshooting skills.
  • Prior experience in Refuel/Defuel, Aircraft Jack, and Tow operations.
  • Being familiar with handling hazardous materials policy.
  • Utilizing a thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, and micrometers.
  • Reading and interpreting approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics, and maintenance procedures.
  • Participating in process improvement, root cause analysis, and applicable tools for improving workload, quality, safety, and reducing cycle time.
  • Maintaining a close working relationship with the assigned lead person regarding schedules, priorities, availability of parts, tools, and special instructions as required.

Using a variety of standard and specialized hand tools, power equipment, measuring devices, and test equipment.

Your Boarding Pass:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing or MRO environment.
  • Licensing: Valid Airframe and Powerplant License.
