Overview

UC-35 Cessna Citation - Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P). Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on UC-35 Cessna Citation aircraft. Level of Mechanic is based on years of specific UC-35 hands-on A&P mechanic experience, per the Union CBA.

Responsibilities

  • A valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.
  • AM-1- Two to five years of A&P and UC-35 experience is required.
  • AM-2 – Five to Ten years of UC-35 experience required.
  • AM-3 – Ten plus years of UC-35 experience is required.
  • US Citizenship is Required to obtain the Secret Clearance, and for facility and base access.
  • Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness.
  • These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls, and airframe components.
  • Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
  • Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751.
  • Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract.
  • Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software.
  • Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary.
  • Perform engine run or taxi operations. Meet requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment.
  • Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Perform other qualified duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.
  • Union CBA Site offers 3 levels of A&P mechanic employment, based on years of hands-on experience on the assigned aircraft UC-35 Cessna Citation MDS Mission Design Series aircraft being serviced.
  • AM-1 - Two (2) Years of A&P mechanic experience Required, with a minimum of two (2) years specific UC-35 Citation hands-on experience preferred.
  • AM-2 - Five (5) years of UC-35 Citation specific hands-on A&P aircraft mechanic experience is required.
  • AM-3 - Ten (10) years of FAA A&P mechanic experience, and Thirteen (13) years of specific UC-35 Citation aircraft experience is required.
  • Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
  • A valid Driver's License is required.
  • Shift work is Required, must be willing and able to work and/or rotate for a multiple shift operation, per the Union CBA. Shifts are assigned based on Union seniority; the site currently operates Two (2) shifts. The Clearwater site is currently running Two shifts; – Day shift is 0600-1430 and the afternoon shift is 1400-2230, with the possibility of weekend work depending on the flight schedule.

Security Clearance Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization. US Citizenship is Required to hold a US Govt Secret Clearance, and facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility.

Pre-employment Medical/Physical Requirements

  • All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within Ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis.

Physical and Additional Qualifications

  • Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
  • Ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation Details

Union CBA $42.30 - $49.93
