Description
Overview
As the UAS Test Pilot - Skunk Works MD (Level 5), you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive flight test missions, evaluating aircraft performance against specifications, and coordinating test operations to ensure safety and mission success.
Responsibilities
- Execute flight test plans, including compliance and operational suitability assessments.
- Operate diverse test aircraft models during engineering, production acceptance, and flight test support.
- Coordinate flight operations efforts and approve cockpit configurations.
- Conduct demonstration flights for customers, government officials, and stakeholders.
- Document test results and provide recommendations for aircraft improvements.

Who You Are
You are an experienced aviator with a proven track record in flight testing and aircraft evaluation. You thrive in high-stakes environments, are meticulous, and collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to drive performance improvements. Your expertise in test planning, safety management, and stakeholder communication makes this role uniquely impactful.
Requirements/Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Graduate of a formal Test Pilot School.
- 8+ years of experience operating manned or unmanned aircraft under DoD instruction/regulations with a minimum of 1000 hours PIC time.
- Experience in flight testing with the ability to work with engineering to develop solutions to integration issues.
- In-depth knowledge of military publications and understanding of NAS/ICAO requirements for large UAS operations.
- In-depth knowledge/understanding of aircraft survivability strategies and tactics.
- Current Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain program access as determined by the company.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in all flight test disciplines, including weapons, avionics, and flight sciences.
- Instructor/training experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Program Management/Leadership Integration.
Security Clearance Statement
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in selected states is $156,400 - $275,655. Salary information is a general guideline. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, and business considerations when extending an offer.
