RS Sr Inspector A&P in GAC Fort Worth

Unique Skills

5th Shift/Weekend nights position. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. The Senior Airworthiness Inspector is responsible for ensuring aircraft, components, and maintenance activities comply with FAA regulations, company quality standards, and approved maintenance procedures. This position performs and oversees inspections, determines airworthiness, approves aircraft and articles for return to service, and provides technical leadership within the Quality organization.

  • Thorough knowledge of applicable FAA regulations, inspection methods, techniques, practices, tools, and equipment used to determine airworthiness.
  • Proficiency in the use of inspection equipment and visual inspection aids.
  • Ability to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of repair station quality systems, processes, records, and inspection requirements.
  • Working knowledge of FAR Parts 43, 91, 145, and associated repair station requirements.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a corporate aviation, repair station, or OEM quality environment.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 8 years aviation maintenance experience (avionics, electrical, and/or mechanical) to include 2 years of relevant Gulfstream aircraft experience and 2 years of aircraft inspection experience. A&P (FAA Airframe and Powerplant) license required.

Position Purpose: Performs inspections of aircraft, aircraft components, and reviews paperwork to ensure that workmanship meets acceptable standards of quality, and that aircraft are returned to service in an airworthy condition with all required documentation properly completed and filed. Works as an integral part of the Quality Control/Assurance team assuring aircraft/components are in compliance with FAA/CAA requirements.

Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for Quality Control inspections on aircraft/components.
  2. Completes inspections of aircraft, engine, and component repairs and alterations to ensure conformity to FAA approved/acceptable data.
  3. Coordinates mechanical, electrical, and inspection requirements on the aircraft during maintenance or outfitting.
  4. Keeps accurate, neat, and legible records of the work performed on aircraft/components.
  5. Coordinates throughout assigned jobs with RTS to ensure accurate aircraft records are produced in a timely manner.
  6. Conducts audits of maintenance documentation for accuracy and completion on all aircraft prior to approval for return to service.
  7. Ensures aircraft/components are airworthy prior to any flight activities.
  8. Mentors technicians on effective documentation.

Additional Functions:

  1. Communicates with management as required to identify work assignments and delivery schedules.
  2. Provides technical support to inspection personnel in supporting the FAA and/or CAA documented requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements

  • Strong computer skills.
  • Knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
  • Knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation, shop mathematics, and QC Procedures.
  • Working knowledge and application of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control systems and methodologies.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
