Job Overview and Responsibilities
The Manager – MRO Systems Transformation will play a critical role in the modernization of United’s core Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) technology platform. This transformative program aims to redesign and improve Tech Ops business processes by implementing a modern MRO system. This system will support the operational needs of maintenance, engineering, and supply chain while ensuring full compliance with complex aviation regulatory standards. The role bridges technical, operational, and strategic domains to drive system adoption and operational excellence.
- Assess the impact of the new MRO system on processes, personnel, and organizational structures. Develop and implement strategies to evaluate, communicate, and facilitate change across Tech Ops.
- Maintain transformation reports and dashboards, tracking progress toward key milestones. Collaborate cross-functionally to support seamless implementation and encourage system adoption.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for an assigned operational area, providing strategic input to shape end-user experience and ensure systems meet business needs.
- Present regular updates to Technical Operations leadership, highlighting progress, risks, key deliverables, and implementation status.
- Provide project management support to assigned division teams, ensuring timely delivery of critical transformation milestones.
NOTE: This position is considered a hybrid work-schedule working 3 days in-office (Tue-Thu), however that may evolve with the needs of the company.
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Aircraft Maintenance, Operations, and Business-related training.
- 2 to 5 years Aircraft Maintenance, 2 to 5 years Maintenance Control, or a combination of both.
- 3+ years of end-user experience with M&E / MRO Systems.
- Exceptional organizational, presentation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to partner with leaders within the company to drive change.
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and driving results.
- Strong understanding of operations in one of the four operating divisions (Airport Operations, Flight Operations, Technical Operations, or Inflight).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.

- Bachelor's degree.
- Aviation Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Research.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience leading/collaborating on large-scale growth initiatives.
- Experience in data analytics or process improvement.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificate.
