Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage short-, mid-, and long-range maintenance plans for scheduled inspections, component/engine overhauls, component replacements, and modifications.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Materials, Maintenance, and Flight Operations to align schedules with operational demand and program goals.
  • Oversee work package build, task card preparation, and induction planning for maintenance and modification events.
  • Monitor maintenance program compliance in accordance with FAA regulations, Maintenance Program (MP) requirements, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Service Bulletins (SBs).
  • Lead a team of maintenance planners providing coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Track and report key performance indicators including on-time induction, TAT (turnaround time), plan adherence, and deferred maintenance.
  • Coordinate forecasting for parts, tooling, hangar slots, and labor to support planned and unplanned maintenance events.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve planning processes and reduce negative schedule impacts.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • 7+ years of aviation maintenance experience, with time in a planning, maintenance and/or production control leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of relevant FAA regulations and continuous airworthiness maintenance programs.
  • Proficiency with maintenance information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience planning maintenance for Boeing 747-8.
  • Familiarity with reliability programs and continuing analysis & surveillance systems.
  • A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) certification.

Essential Functions

  • Ability to work on a computer for the majority of the work shift.
  • Hand/finger dexterity for data entry and document handling.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
  • Ability to read detailed operational documents, reports, and computer screens.
  • Ability to inspect operations and facilities, potentially in different lighting conditions.
  • Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments such as manufacturing floors or during team meetings.
  • Ability to navigate large facilities, including climbing stairs or ladders if necessary.
  • Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for site visits or other work-related travel.
  • Ability to perform fine motor tasks such as adjusting small controls or tools during inspections or demonstrations.
