Description
Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Fabrication is seeking a Non-Destructive Test Quality Multi-Family Manager (Level K) to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Position Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technicians and specialists, fostering a culture that prioritizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement to drive high performance and operational excellence.
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Interface with Operations, Quality, Engineering, regulatory agencies and suppliers/partners to resolve issues impacting airplane build, test and delivery.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.
- Monitor group performance against program and functional commitments and develop technical employees within the group.
- Act as the initial point of escalation for issues or challenges encountered by the team, capable of effectively triaging and de-escalating issues with impacted parties.
- Demonstrate the Boeing values in a deliberate and observable way.
- Lead change management efforts to collaborate and influence cross-functional partners.
- Proactively communicate with the leadership team, peers, and customers.
- Build an organizational culture that values open and honest communication and first-time quality.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement by communicating/deploying enterprise best practices and employee engagement to improve cost, quality, delivery, employee job satisfaction, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide education, coaching, and support to ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and standards.
- May require travel up to 10% of the time.
Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment
To be considered for this position, you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- 5+ years of experience with Quality and/or Manufacturing processes and organizations.
- 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with stakeholders (i.e. Customers, suppliers, peers, and/or partners).
- 5+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test).
- 5+ years of experience managing teams.
- Leadership experience with technical employees.
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross-functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Current or previous NDT Level II / III certification in one or more NDT methods (ASNT Preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in program or project management.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant.
