Military Derivatives Test Pilot (Experienced or Senior)

Overview

Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking a Military Derivatives Test Pilot to join our team in Seattle, WA at Boeing Field. This position will work in the Military Transport division of Boeing Flight Operations. This division develops and flight tests military derivatives of various Boeing commercial aircraft for use by both the US military branches as well as foreign militaries around the world.

The designs range from commercially certified supplemental designs to military specific requirements and often involve military specific systems related to communications, surveillance, self-defense systems, aerial refueling, military cargo and airdrop, and weapons delivery.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Experienced and Senior Level Military Derivatives Test Pilots.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct ground, flight and maintenance test flights for experimental, prototype, new production, and modified production aircraft to determine system functionality, aircraft performance, structural integrity, and certification of aircraft.
• Contribute to technical reports, flight manuals and flight reports.
• Assist with evaluation of flight data (e.g., system performance, aircraft handling, and equipment malfunction) and participate in aircraft design to recommend changes based on operational considerations.
• Collaborate on marketing, evaluation and demonstration activities for customers.

Requirements/Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
• Military flight test experience in transport category airplanes.
• Commercial Certificate or FAA ATP with appropriate endorsements.
• Current FAA Class II medical certificate or the ability to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Level 4: Five or more years military flight test experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Military test pilot school graduate.
• Military flight test experience in the KC-46, P-8 or similar aircraft.
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required). An active U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.
• Prior aerial refueling qualification and/or aerial refueling certification test experience.
• Type ratings in Boeing commercial model aircraft desired.
• Experience with the processes and procedures for certification of aircraft, including Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Defense (DOD) requirements. Ability to assess type design data for showing compliance.

• Pay Range: Experienced Level P3: $206,550 - $279,450; Senior Level P4: $241,400 - $326,600.

• Safety Sensitive: This is not a Safety Sensitive Position.
