Mgr A/C MX

Plans, organize and control maintenance performed on aircraft in a safe and economical manner. Monitor discrepancies on existing aircraft while maintaining awareness of MX and flight schedules. Coordinate all MX with ground support activities as necessary.

Job Description

Essential Functions

• Works with AMTs to minimize delays, cancellations, and OOS impacts.
• Ensure the accomplishment of the daily plan (work release items, scheduled aircraft support activities and allocation for unplanned MX items) in support of the efficient operation of the aircraft fleet.
• Supervise and coordinate all maintenance functions on shift at the assigned location ensuring these activities are performed in a safe manner through active supervision in accordance with schedule requirements and in compliance with all established Company, regulatory and manufacturers procedures.
• Assigns aircraft maintenance technician and related personnel in accordance with requirements to achieve maximum productivity and cost control.
• Ensures their team has the appropriate resources available and holds them accountable for the work assigned/performed.
• Provide leadership and direction to on shift labor workforce to maximize productivity and output whilst ensuring necessary resources are available.
• Build and reinforce a fair and respectful work environment through consistent application of Handbook and company policies.
• Execute station performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goals.
• Maintain a high level of awareness of operational, safety and human resource related performance objectives.
• Oversee safety and security of aircraft and operations to ensure regulatory compliance of technical operations activities.
• Maintain a high level of communication with employee groups within the station.
• Report status of operations, highlighting significant events to leadership whilst providing direction to assigned station personnel to ensure station and divisional objectives are achieved.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Associate's degree/equivalent required. Current A&P licenses required.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years AMT experience maintaining turbine powered, fixed or rotary wing aircraft that exceeds 12,500 lbs. Manufacturer empty weight (MEW) or as avionics technician.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of FedEx maintenance program, operation specification and applicable portion of FARs. Strong management, human relations and communication skills.

Job Conditions

Must be willing to work various shifts and odd work weeks. FAA covered safety sensitive position. Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine & opioids. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Preferred Qualifications

The desired location for this position would be Los Angeles, CA. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.

Pay Transparency

Pay: $15,382.99 - $16,082.21 USD Monthly
