Overview

You will be the Production Hangar APG, F-16 Technician for the Lockheed Martin Greenville Production Team.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Production Hangar APG, F-16 Technician you will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and modifying aircraft systems and powerplants in accordance with established written procedures, specifications, and standards.

The Production Hangar APG, F-16 Technician will also need to be knowledgeable in aircraft systems operation and maintenance to include:

  • Landing gear
  • Powerplants
  • Flight controls
  • Rigging
  • Aircraft movement

The candidate will be required to:

  • Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft.
  • Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform repetitive movements and work overhead.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
  • Properly use, handle and dispose of hazardous materials, and toxic or caustic chemicals per Government regulations and company procedures.

Mission essential functions and other duties may be assigned as required. May be required to obtain a clearance as necessary if the work area performs classified work. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed to perform job tasks. The employee is regularly exposed to vibration.

Basic Qualifications

Candidate must have over 8 years of related aircraft production, overhaul or modification experience on various aircraft systems.

Demonstrated proficiency using mechanics' hand tools effectively.

Desired Skills

Military fighter aircraft assembly, maintenance, and/or modification experience preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes.
  • Prior Phase or Heavy Maintenance experience to include “look phase” to identify and repair discrepancies.
  • Prior Landing Gear team experience.
  • Experience installing/removing and rigging flight control surfaces.
  • Be willing and able to train less experienced mechanics.
  • Experience operating Ground Support Equipment (GSE/AGE) to support Power/Hydraulic and pneumatic procedures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
  • Aircraft production experience.

Pay Information

Pay rate for this position is $27.21 - $49.04 per hour.

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
