What you can expect as an Engineering Assistant at DAS Aviation

In this role, you will be instrumental in developing technical data for FAA 8110-2 approvals and researching complex repair processes. You will bridge the gap between engineering and production by creating work order planning documents and helping shop technicians interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

You will be ESSENTIAL to many FUNCTIONS including

  • FAA Compliance: Develop technical data and substantiation required for FAA 8110-2 Approval.
  • Process Research: Conduct research on specific processes and procedures for the modification, repair, and alteration of aircraft components.
  • Technical Documentation: Create and verify work order planning documents to ensure operational accuracy.
  • Shop Support: Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical procedures for shop personnel to facilitate component repairs.
  • Managerial Assistance: Provide direct support to the Engineering Manager by performing delegated tasks and aiding in departmental duties as needed.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

What you’ll need to bring with you:

Your Education:

  • A High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.

Your Experience:

  • An A&P license is preferred.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in aircraft or component maintenance.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Your Initiative:

  • We’re looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.
  • This person will need to have strong attention to detail, be well organized, and able to prioritize workload efficiently.

Your Sense of Responsibility:

  • Attend work every day as scheduled.
  • Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Self-starter.
  • Required to follow all processes and procedures in a timely manner.

Other particulars:

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Walk moderate distances as required.
  • Basic personal computer operations.

Mental Requirements:

  • Work with others in a professional manner.
  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
  • Prioritize workload and work under pressure.
