Description
Overview
The Boeing Company is looking for a Deputy Chief Pilot - Flight Technical and Safety (FT&S) located in Seattle, WA.
This position provides and manages FT&S 737, 757/767, Flight Crew Training Manual, and Safety Pilot employees, offering technical consultation, aircrew instruction, technical documentation, and support related to flight operations, flight safety, and accident investigations.
This role interfaces with government and industry agencies around the world and with airlines operating all models of Boeing commercial aircraft. FT&S works closely with various departments within The Boeing Company to ensure our aircraft are operated safely and efficiently in a wide variety of operating environments. The group consists of numerous former airline pilots with extensive operational experience, providing a broad-based, global perspective of airline operations.
This position is primarily non-flying but requires maintaining qualification as a pilot on at least one model of Boeing aircraft and possessing a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing projects, implementing policies and procedures, and setting operational goals.
- Acquiring resources for projects, providing technical management, and leading process improvements.
- Leading and mentoring team of direct reports.
Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment
To be considered for this position, you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temporary manager, large-scale cross-functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
- The position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements; a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
- 737 Type Rating.
- 5+ years of experience in airplane accident investigation and/or training.
- Work experience in Flight Operations.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- International flight experience.
- 757/767 Type Rating.

Pay is based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $256,700 - $347,300
