Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Deployable Aircraft Mechanic 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a rotational OCONUS position located at Edwards AFB, CA.
You will be responsible for:
- Performing minor structural repairs and modifications.
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing aircraft and engine systems.
- Conducting diagnosis of malfunctions.
- Performing maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations.
- Fabricating, installing, and testing installation, routing, clamping, and wiring harnesses.
- Reading wiring diagrams and blueprints.
- Receiving additional training to fulfill daily activities and duties required to meet contract requirements.
Basic Qualifications
- Must have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and 2 years of relevant experience in the Aviation/Aerospace industry and/or mechanical experience and/or A&P certification/experience and/or additional Avionics education/certification.
- Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
- Willingness to accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 180 days away from primary work location to support business needs.
- Willingness to perform required work in Palmdale, CA and at Edwards AFB, as determined by business needs.
- Willingness to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status (24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year), as required by business needs.
- Must be able to meet medical requirements and pass a physical for worldwide travel within a reasonable period of time after hiring as determined by the company.
- Ability to successfully pass a vision screen test within a reasonable period of time after hiring as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Top-Secret clearance.
- Operational experience.
Salary Information
Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
