Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Updates and maintains Job Safe analyst Cards on assigned equipment.
- Supports supervisor in ensuring all department work is completed in a timely manner and meets requirements for quality and quantity.
- Fully supports corporate safety, FOD, and 5S programs.
- Assists the team to achieve milestone dates and meet goals through proficient hands-on work, guidance, and ensuring required equipment and material is available.
- Ensures all required paperwork and documentation, such as ADTS, CDMS, CMP cards, and R&I log are completed.
- Ensures design and engineering drawings are used and followed.
- Accomplishes weekly safety audits and assists team members in doing safety audits.
- Leads or serves on Lean and Quality Improvement teams to ensure local and corporate goals are achieved.
- Assists in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs.
Additional Functions
- Ensures compliance with and champions safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies.
- Ensures that aircraft interiors are protected (PTP) and leads local and corporate safety initiatives.
- Leads efforts to continuously improve existing processes and procedures using Lean Manufacturing tools.
- In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
- By own example, sets standards for professionalism, communication, team building, and recognition of team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5 years of previous aircraft experience in specific discipline of the position (e.g., 5 years previous aircraft upholstery experience for the Completions Coordinator for the Trim Shop).
- Fully capable in artisan skills within department, including planning, laying out, assembling, and installing components based on blueprints, verbal instructions, sketches, customer requests, FAA, and GAC specifications as required.
- Must remain knowledgeable in the safe operation of all shop equipment, hand tools, and pertinent hardware specific to the assigned department.
- Must remain proficient in all artisan skills and provide technical expertise as required to engineering and management.
- If applicable, Airframe and/or Powerplant License or Repairman Certificate is required.
- Must be able to lift, carry, move, push, pull, and install 30-50 pounds unassisted.
- Must wear all required safety equipment and be able to walk, sit, stand, climb, crawl, twist, bend, and work in confined areas and from stands and ladders.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and shifts when required to meet business needs.
- This job requires one to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
