Purpose:

Directly responsible to the Manager of ILN Hanger for the day-to-day oversight of company owned and/or operated out of service aircraft at ILN. This includes the supervision of vendors and company personnel relevant to the maintenance activities associated within the line check environment. Duties include:

• Oversight of contract maintenance vendors, which supply maintenance and related services
• Contract installation service providers and engineering firms as well as the aircraft manufacturer
• Scheduling subordinates' time on site and designating work assignments
• Coordinating with other departments for tooling, personnel, and material to keep the aircraft on schedule and on proposed budget
• Being thoroughly familiar with the FAA Approved Maintenance Inspection Program for coordination with the Quality Control department and management
• Providing suggestions and/or recommendations for various program improvements

Job Functions:

• Receives and prioritizes travel requests
• Planning meetings to ensure the effective/efficient utilization of manpower placed on aircraft, including consultation with vendors on manpower issues
• Ensuring vendors perform maintenance on company aircraft using appropriate processes and procedures utilizing approved acceptable data
• Ensuring completion of proper return to service paperwork
• Interface with other departments for proper timing and composition of company documentation, i.e. Company Engineering Orders
• Oversight and observation of both contractors and vendors in the performance of their assigned duties
• General regulatory compliance of maintenance performed on aircraft
• Administration – signing, reviewing, and processing company documents related to vendors, employees, or materials
• Report to the Director of Quality Control when exercising authority under RII provisions
• Attend all Company training classes as assigned by the Manager of Heavy Maintenance
• Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of four (4) years heavy maintenance or line maintenance experience on heavy transport category aircraft
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must successfully complete a DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screen and a DOT/FAA compliant background check
• Ability to clearly communicate with customers and co-workers; stand, bend, and reach to maintain files; sit for extended periods of time; and comply with ATI attendance requirements
• Shall hold a valid Airframe and Powerplant license (FAR 121.378a)
• Shall have a valid passport and Driver’s License
• Ability to travel as the needs of the airline dictate (may require travel up to 3 weeks per month)

Preferred Job Skills:

• B 757/767 aircraft experience
• Parts 121, 125, 145 experience
• Heavy transport category aircraft experience

Physical Requirements:

• Employees are regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard
• Ability to clearly communicate with customers and co-workers; stand, bend, and reach
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
• Able to work at heights up to 80 feet
• Work from ladders up to 10 feet
• Climb up to 3 flights of stairs
• Depth perception, field of vision, color vision, near/far sight acuity, and hand/eye coordination
• Comply with ATI attendance requirements
