Description
Overview
Performs a variety of operations to manufacture, assemble and/or refurbish various aircraft parts and structures. Assemblies can require controlled tooling as well as build to print. Tasks include aligning parts on jigs using both templates and fixtures, drilling close tolerance holes, and performing part-fitting operations. These operations consist of minor filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, drilling, reaming, riveting, countersinking, and cold working. Measures parts with a variety of methods to verify dimensions. May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes and perform repairs. Works from blueprint diagrams, drawings, specifications, and shop orders. Monitors and verifies quality and develops corrective action. Performs corrosion inspection and repair per engineering requirements. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager as directed.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have experience with the use of hand tools (i.e. torque wrench, drills, inspection tools, riveting tools, and various other hand tools).
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings or instructions.
Desired Skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as be a self-starter.
- Attention to detail.
- Focus on cost, quality, schedule, and safety.
- Aircraft assembly experience.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
Pay Information
Pay rate for this position is $18.85 - $31.44 per hour.
