Apprentice Aviation MX Tech

Job Duties

Performs safe and efficient routine and non-routine maintenance on FedEx aircraft as assigned by the Lead Aviation Maintenance Technician. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

High school diploma/GED.

Minimum Experience

Obtains on-the-job training (OJT) and 36 months proficiency in the area of aircraft maintenance to meet the experience requirements for progression to Aviation Maintenance Technician.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Valid A&P licenses.
• Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy aircraft-related components, parts, and equipment.

Job Conditions

• Must be willing to work odd work weeks, rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• FAA Covered Safety Sensitive Position.
• Subject to regulatory Alcohol and Drug Testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, and opioids.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• A valid non-restricted driver's license from the state of residence is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates must have an Airframe & Powerplant License and fewer than 36 months of experience maintaining turbine powered aircraft that exceed 12,500 lbs. Manufacturers' Empty Weight (MEW). The desired location for this position would be Indianapolis, IN. Employees will be required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.
