Description

SUMMARY:

The Configuration and Data Management Engineer will provide technical support to the airline through aircraft configuration control and technical data management. This role will support the Engineering Department and will need the ability to travel as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain aircraft, assemblies, capabilities, and part numbers in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Maintain part number and assembly applicability, aircraft positions, component limits, minimum specifications, and part interchangeability
  • Ensure parts and components meet FAA, OEM, and ABX requirements for aircraft and assemblies
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to support the engineering department and maintain aircraft configuration control

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • HSD/GED is required; however, it is highly preferred to have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology OR an Associate of Science Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology. May substitute 2 years towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with 2 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance and/or aircraft technical support capacity OR 6 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance and/or technical support capacity with 2 years’ experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Knowledge and practical skills in technical subjects including Structures, Hydraulics, Avionics, Electrical, Pneumatics, Fuel and Powerplant Systems.
  • Understanding of aircraft terminology and ability to read and interpret drawings, system schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical data and documents.
  • Strong written and oral technical communication skills with ability to describe, discuss and resolve technical questions and problems.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, spreadsheets, databases, word processing, drawings.
  • Ability to travel as needed.

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor of Science or Associate of Science Degree
  • Airframe and Powerplant License
  • Experience with aircraft maintenance support functions and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Familiarization with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
  • Exposure/experience with commercial air transport aircraft
  • A330 parts research experience
