ABX AC TECH PDX CASUAL

Overview

The AC Tech (Line Maintenance) will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, modifications and other line maintenance of aircraft, components and related equipment in accordance with specified manuals, procedures and FAA regulations. The role requires communication with all departments within the company and may involve travel for station coverage, training, and other maintenance support. The technician will work outside in all types of weather and be on-call as needed. Responsibilities include assisting Airport Planning/Properties with property and environmental issues, maintaining station manuals, parts and tooling inventory, and performing other related duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and modifications on aircraft and related equipment.
• Communicate with all departments within the company.
• Travel regionally for station coverage and training.
• Work outside in various weather conditions.
• Be available for on-call situations as needed.
• Assist Airport Planning/Properties with property and environmental issues.
• Maintain station manuals, parts, and tooling inventory.
• Perform aircraft deicing, snow removal, and GSE maintenance as required.
• Ensure stations will pass FAA and QA audits during regional travel.
• Train new team members on paperwork, MXI, manuals, etc.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must have a High School Diploma (HSD) or GED.
• Valid driver's license and the ability to successfully pass an MVR background check.
• A&P License.
• Two years of experience in all phases of commercial transport aircraft.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot aircraft systems.
• Technical knowledge of aircraft systems, particularly those at the station applying for.
• Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and evaluate structural damage.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication (both written and verbal).
• Self-motivation, integrity, cooperation, professionalism, and leadership.
• Ability to travel on company aircraft as required.
• Physical ability to stoop, bend, manipulate tools in small spaces.
• Willingness to work in adverse/outdoor conditions.
• Must wear respirator/safety protective equipment as indicated.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
• Capability to perform work at heights up to 60 ft.
• Ability to obtain SIDA Badge for airport, aircraft, and air cargo access.

Preferred Skills

• Four years of experience in all phases of commercial transport aircraft.
• Two years of hands-on line maintenance experience on type aircraft operated by ABX.
• Experience with 757/767 aircraft.
