JOB SUMMARY:
Mobile Service Technicians (MST) will focus on the maintenance activities and work scope of Customer aircraft. They will identify and correct issues on malfunctioning aircraft mechanical components and systems, perform a variety of diagnostic and mechanical duties on Jet aircraft, and assist with the scheduling and coordination of the work of others in the crew. Responsibilities include communicating aircraft issues with Customers, reviewing the work scope, adding squawks as required, responding to Customer inquiries, and ensuring Customer satisfaction by coordinating with the Service Center Team. The MST will also assist the Lead Mechanic with maintaining the mobile service vehicle and ensuring it is properly serviced and roadworthy.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the work scope is completed in a timely manner and performed in accordance with established policy, procedures, and quality standards.
- Perform a variety of diagnostic and mechanical duties on one or more aircraft models involving the diagnosis of malfunctions and the required disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems.
- Check, correct, or replace a variety of complex aircraft assemblies, including landing gear systems, air conditioning systems, pressurization systems, and optional equipment installations.
- Order and obtain parts necessary for aircraft repairs, ensuring cores are returned in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure compliance with the inspection procedures set forth in FAR Part 145 and documentation procedures as required in FAR 43 and all other applicable FARs.
- Provide clear, concise, and accurate written reports in logs, inspection reports, and parts identification for issue and return documents.
- Ensure that all maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, or specialized services performed adhere to the Inspection System procedures as outlined in the Quality Control manual.
- Observe operation of mechanical systems during flight and troubleshoot problems for in-shop repairs as required.
- Communicate safety expectations of the Service Center and monitor the work environment to assure it is maintained in a safe and orderly condition.
- Identify and correct unsafe acts as necessary.
- Work as a member of a team focused on meeting customer expectations, requiring mechanics and avionics technicians to assist each other as needed.
- Assist the Lead MST in ensuring that all equipment and tooling with the mobile service vehicle are inspected, properly maintained, and serviced as required for safe and efficient operation.
- Ensure that the mobile service vehicle is in safe operating condition, with all fluid levels checked, tire pressures correct, and inspections of wiper blades, hoses, tires, etc. completed as required.
- Obtain a Textron-issued driver license and possess a valid state-issued driver license to operate Company-owned vehicles or vehicles under Textron control.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school education or equivalent required.
- A&P license required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with diversified jet, turboprop, piston, modification, and phase inspection experience as an A&P Mechanic.
- Preferred: Minimum 1-2 years’ experience on Cessna, Hawker, or Beechcraft aircraft.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to use arithmetic, blueprints, and specifications along with knowledge of jet and piston airframe and engine principles.
- Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license and abide by Textron Fleet Vehicle handbook and AOA access requirements.
- Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems is required.
- Must be able to obtain an Airport Security Badge through the local airport authority (if applicable).
